Prayer Post! (Orleans)

Orleans is another "Cathedral Town"(head of the local/regional diocese/parishes), but one with a very powerful, rich patronage of people(at least during the Middle Ages!).  Here's what I "got"!

- Pomp & Circumstance; self-conscious and overly aware of status and appearance. (even the Market place is hosed down, swept and impeccably tidy!)
- Ignorance of, or avoidance of the recognition of foibles and failures(?) "Nothing is wrong! How can anything be wrong? Everything looks perfect?!"
- lots of restoration happening of the OUTSIDE of houses, but insides being ignored and left(money spent on the outside with none left over for insides); Prayer that renovations would begin spiritually, that people, spiritually, would allow the broken/rotten things to be dug out & replaced with new, strong, healthy substance rather that "just" plastering over wood rot, etc.
- Orleans & France: the "Self" rules.  "What's in it for me?", "Why should I?", "Self" comes first; Father, awaken humility, compassion, GENEROSITY.
- Singing the song "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence; a cry of French hearts. Awaken awareness of "nothingness", of need. Awaken the cry, that You might answer.
- Underground water.  Raise the water table. Flood the land with/by Your Spirit.  Bring the LAND back to life!  As the water level rises and begins to flood, the canopy of darkness(in Belgium in was a canopy in the "heavens", here I see it like a plastic covering over the fields, upon the land(?)) will begin to life, crack, break and float away.  The power and presence of the water is unstoppable.
